My feet are wrecked!

Well, at the moment my right foot is. Ugly I know, but this is a warts and all blog. I have been mat riding so often of late that my swim fins are eroding the soles of my feet. I have a split under my big toe that has turned into an open wound. I have resorted to an old fart's corn dressing to protect it a little. If I want to go surfing it will have to be on a board in order to give my feet a rest. The only trouble is that I don't have any boards to ride so I am going to have to rely on Michelle lending me one of hers. When my feet have recovered a little more, I am going to have to go back to wearing fin socks. This is a pain in the butt as I was really enjoying using the new super comfy Duck Feet with bare ass feet!
Damn, damn, damn!

  1. Terrible - having to go back to a hard-board.....such a retrograde step :) You had better be nice to me if you want to borrow one - no more disparaging remarks about hard-boards and their riders....(revenge is sooooo sweet :)

  2. Oh look I love hardboard riders. I am just not keen to ride the boards they choose to.

  3. RT - fins socks usually mean one size up ... i.e., maybe you can now try the new green/brown UDTs ... i know, i know ... feeble attempt to brighten up your day :^)

  4. I have been using hard booties with a split toes for decades Robin and thats what has saved my feet over the years from major fin rash..yes you will need a pair of flippers one size bigger, but you will also have the advantage of running over a barnicle encrusted reef and not feel a thing!

  5. Thanks people. I had been using split-toe booties until the new Duck Feet came out and it looks like I will have to go back to using them.
